NatMatSci Year 1 physicists have achieved the highest team score in Region 14 of the 2026 PhysicsBowl!
Run by the American Association of Physics Teachers (AAPT) – one of the most competitive regions in the world, region 14 includes every country outside China and most of the USA, with more than 11,000 students entering globally. NatMatSci’s team score of 173 not only secured first place in the region, but would also have topped the leaderboard in the vast majority of US states, including California, in this prestigious US-based competition.
The PhysicsBowl is a fast-paced international contest that challenges students to solve advanced physics problems quickly and accurately across a broad range of topics, including material beyond the standard A-level syllabus. Competitors are also tested on wider physics knowledge, from historical discoveries to current research and emerging developments in the field.
An outstanding individual achievement came from Winston, who was one of only 41 students worldwide to achieve a perfect score of 40/40.
