NatMatSci celebrates outstanding A level results

Following on from recent international successes at the International Biology Olympiad, The National Mathematics and Science College is delighted to celebrate another outstanding set of A Level examination results this year, despite the challenging background of the last few months. The results make NatMatSci one of the top performing schools in the UK!

  • 93% of entries awarded either an A* or an A grade
  • 70% of all results were awarded an A* grade
  • 85% of students achieved straight A*/A grades
  • 1 in 5 students achieved 4 A* grades

These results are made all the more impressive as they are all in the most demanding STEM A-level subjects.

Two students achieved their offers of places at Cambridge to read Mathematics and Natural Science (Earth Science) respectively; with a further three achieving their places at Oxford to read Biology and two reading Chemistry.

All of our students have gone on to gain places at outstanding institutions, with nearly all of them gaining offers at either Oxbridge, Russell Group Universities, or to read Medicine at their first choice of university.   Whilst the process this year has been far from typical, we are incredibly proud of the students, and the results that they have achieved through a very robust process.

Principal, Dr Andy Kemp says:

“The outstanding quality of these results, coupled with our students outstanding performances throughout the year in international competitions, confirms that The National Mathematics and Science College is indeed the best place to be for any young person who is truly passionate about Mathematics and Science.  The teaching they have received over the last two years have set them on an exciting path to great success, and we wish them all the best for the next stage of their exciting journeys”.
