Welcome to meals, snacks and dietary options

Nutritious, healthy meals are vital for our hard-working students and the College works hard to ensure that our caterers provide students with well-balanced meals throughout the academic year. At the Residence, students and the Boarding Team eat evening meals together.

Breakfast and Dinner are served at the residence and Lunch is provided at College. Breakfast is continental-style, which includes a range of cereals, fresh fruit, toast, eggs, and fruit conserves. Lunch is served at the local Westwood Academy with different options offered daily. Students can choose from a range of hot meals, drinks, fruit, and desserts. Dinner is a hot meal prepared by a professional catering company. There is a 3-week rolling menu. All meals are made with fresh seasonal ingredients.

The Residence Dinner Menu 18-19

All three main meals are provided at the Residence. Weekend breakfasts include waffles, pancakes, pain-au-chocolate, cereals, fresh fruit, toast, eggs, and fruit conserves. Weekend lunches are generally lighter options, such as cold meats, cheeses, soups, bread, and salads. Saturday Dinner is a hot meal and on Sundays, a traditional British Sunday Lunch is served.

Snacks and Drinks

Fresh fruit and savoury snacks are available at all time at the Residence. Drinks available include water, fruit cordials, milk, tea, coffee, and hot chocolate.

Dietary Requirements

Our caterers can tailor their menus to suit a variety of dietary requirements such as vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, kosher, halal or a range of food intolerances. Parents are asked to inform us of any dietary requirements or intolerances before the start of the year so that appropriate meals can be arranged.
The food we provide is varied but is mainly based on popular British dishes, so the food will be different from the food students are used to at home.

Student Use of Kitchens

Students are welcome to use the fully equipped kitchen facilities throughout the week, to prepare snacks and additional meals of their choice. It is a good opportunity to develop their cooking skills before going on to university. There is ample fridge, freezer and cupboard space for the safe storage of food.

Our students also enjoy monthly baking days with the Boarding Team, where they can hone their baking skills.
