We understand that choosing the right school is a very personal decision. One of the best ways to decide if a school is right for you is to visit the school and experience real student life: lessons, clubs, accommodation, food, and of course the teaching.

You are warmly invited to join us on a Discovery Visit so you can find out what life as a student at our college is really like.

How long is a Discovery Visit?
Visits can last anything from one to four days and are arranged individually to suit your needs.

How much does a Discovery Visit cost?
One day visits are free of charge.
If you wish to stay for a little longer with a family homestay the charge is £100 per day which includes all your meals and transport to and from school.

What are the benefits of a visit?
You will enjoy full immersion into college life as it really is.

By spending time with us, our teachers will get to know you and help make an honest assessment whether this is the right College for you.

When can I come to visit?
Provided we are not participating in any Olympiad competitions or public exams you are welcome anytime. You can check if we are closed for school holidays, view our term dates. Please remember to check with us before making your travel arrangements!

What accommodation is provided on a Discovery Visit?
If you are a student joining us for a visit and you are not accompanied by a parent, we will gladly arrange a family homestay for you with one of our lovely families. If your parents wish to accompany you, we can suggest local hotels and amenities.

What do I need to bring with me?
You should bring comfortable smart clothes for school and comfortable casual clothes for after school. We will let you know if there are any specific activities taking place on the days you wish to visit and if you need to bring anything in particular for these activities.

How to arrange a Discovery Visit?
If you wish to join us for a taster visit, you can contact us by email admissions@natmatsci.ac.uk or call Admissions on 02475092945.

Discovery Visit – a student’s perspective

“Visiting the hall of residence, talking to the house parents and meeting a home-stay family really helped my mum feel confident that I was going to be well looked after. I knew straight away I had made the right choice!”

Discovery Visit – a parent’s perspective

“We were impressed by the equipment base of College and the facilities of the student residence. We had an excellent dinner with NMSC co-founder Martin Stephen. It has been an honour to receive as a gift from Martin Stephen his book called “Educating the More Able Student: What Works and Why”.

We recommend for parents of gifted and talented children who are interested in mathematics and science, just to come to the College and communicate with teachers and staff, visit the host families in which they intend to give their children for living, and make an independent conclusion about whether they want their child to study in the same conditions, in the same creative environment and in the same team in which our daughter studies. The choice is yours! ” Parents, Professor Alexander Yuffa and Doctor Elena Yuffa
