5 Medals, 1 Incredible Week: IChO 2025 Success for NatMatSci and the UK Team

IChO 2025 success for Year 13 student Victor from Belgium

We are absolutely thrilled to celebrate the outstanding achievement at IChO 2025 for Victor, a Year 13 student at the National Mathematics and Science College (NatMatSci), who proudly represented Belgium at the 2025 International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO) in the UAE — and returned with a Silver Medal! 🥈👏

Victor competed against the brightest young chemists from across the globe, and his success is a testament to his remarkable talent, dedication, and the academic excellence we foster here at NatMatSci.

Reflecting on his experience, Victor shared:

“It was an amazing week! So much stress, pressure, fun, and meeting so many new wonderful people! Thank you so much for all the help over the past year and a half — I changed a lot over that time thanks to you. It was also great seeing the UK team throughout the week.”

Victor’s journey doesn’t end here — he’s has offers from UCL to study Chemistry with Mathematics and has also received an offer from Imperial College London for Chemical Engineering. We’re excited to see where his next steps will take him! Lovely to see Victor celebrating with classmate Evaristo from Spain who also has an offers UCL and Warwick to read Mathematics.

🏅 Celebrating the UK Team

We also want to extend our congratulations to the UK IChO team, who delivered an exceptional performance:

  • Joseph – Gold
  • Zesang – Silver
  • Julian & Jerry – Bronze

What a phenomenal showing from all four students!

At NatMatSci, we’re incredibly proud to see our students continue to excel on the international stage — a true reflection of their hard work and the supportive, high-achieving community we build together. 🌟
