This year’s leavers’ lunch was held at Scarman House where students, parents, friends and the NatMatSci senior leadership gathered to mark the end of an era and say a fond farewell to our Year 2 students. Guests enjoyed a delicious 3-course lunch amongst friends both old and new, followed by many a selfie and group photo!
The day was full of happiness but was inevitably tinged with sadness. As our Head of Maths said, we are saying a fond farewell to the “last of the trailblazers” – those students who joined us as the college opened back in 2016.
The lunch was followed by an awards ceremony at the College, where each department honoured the leavers with awards and told stories from the last three years, both in the classroom and out. Three of our students delivered poignant speeches reflecting on their time with us, demonstrating just how far they have come in confidence and ability in public speaking during their time at the College. The day concluded with afternoon tea where students had the opportunity to say goodbye to their teachers, fellow students and each other.
The departing students contributed so much to the College community and their enthusiasm, talent, and sense of humour will be missed by everyone. We wish them all the very best in the future.
