Get Your Questions Answered: Engage with Year 2 Students and Learn About the Application Process for Medicine and Medical related degrees

We extend a warm invitation to prospective students and their families to participate in our upcoming Open Event, tailored specifically for those interested in our Preparation for Medicine Programme.

The Preparation for Medicine Programme is a bespoke course that focuses on developing evidence of excellence in the key areas necessary for a successful medical application. All students on the Preparation for Medicine Programme study alongside the students on the A-level programme, completing A-levels in Chemistry and Mathematics, alongside up to two other subjects, usually including Biology.

The event will be hosted by our Vice Principal Dr Penny Robotham and Tom Pitt, Head of the Preparation for Medicine Programme; you will also be able to meet some of our fantastic current students currently holding offers for medicine, dentistry and pharmacology.

Dr. Penny Robotham and Tom Pitt, will deliver insightful presentations and you’ll also gain valuable insights from members of our department heads, offering a comprehensive overview of our academic excellence and innovative approach to medical education including our MedSoc events such as surgical skills and heart valve simulation workshops with NHS consultants.

We will end the event with an engaging open question and answer session, featuring our Year 2 students. They will not only share their experiences but also answer questions on the demanding process of applying for Medicine in the UK.

You will hear from Ashish, who has received offers for Medicine from University of Oxford, Imperial College London, and University of Bristol. Diana who holds offers for Medicine at Queen Mary University of London, and Dennis who has secured offers for Pharmacology at Kings College London and Dentistry at both Queen Mary London and Newcastle University.

Our year 2 aspiring medics have received 11 offers for medicine from universities including Oxford, Imperial College, Bristol, St. Andrews, Birmingham, Leicester, St. Georges, Aston and Queen Mary. Furthermore, our aspiring dentists have received offers from Kings College, Queen Mary and Newcastle.
