The academic life of NatMatSci is central to all we do, so we are delighted to announce the latest addition to the NatMatSci team – our new Assistant Principal (Academic), Jocelyn D’Arcy.

Dr Andy Kemp, Principal, said of Jocelyn’s appointment:

“The National Mathematics and Science College couldn’t have asked for a more passionate and inspirational Academic Assistant Principal than Jocelyn.  Her wide experience of world class international education as both a teacher and a student will bring huge value to the College and our students.  Her unashamed geekiness makes her a perfect fit for the College, and we can’t wait to see where she will take us over the coming years!”

Jocelyn brings with her previous experiences as Head of Mathematics, Director of Learning and Teaching and Housemistress across a range of excellent schools, which together give her the perfect insight necessary to continue the development of the outstanding academic offering here at NatMatSci.

Studying at MITOxford and Cambridge universities, Jocelyn continues to enjoy participating in the wider Mathematics and Science communities.  She particularly enjoys collaborating with other teachers and has delivered keynote addresses and organised conferences for educational organisations.

In addition to her passion for Mathematics, Jocelyn is also a highly experienced Economics teacher, and will be taking over the Economics department here at NatMatSci, enabling our students to explore its position at the intersection of Mathematics and Social Sciences.  We are very excited to have someone so perfectly positioned to take on Economics here at NatMatSci alongside her wider role leading the academic development of the College.
